Omega seamaster – The legend of the sea

OMEGA Seamaster is famous as the watch that has accompanied cinema legend James Bond through hundreds of thrilling feats of action in the 007 series. But the Seamaster predates this classic pairing and is in fact the longest-standing watch line by OMEGA, with the first model devised for the British Royal Navy in 1948. Robust and reliable underwater OMEGA timepieces were trusted by figures who transformed maritime history, including the famous French conservationist Jacques Cousteau and explorer Charles William Beebe during his adventures off the coast of Bermuda.

OMEGA Seamaster truly became a sensation when diving gained popularity in 1957. Subsequently, a new range of Seamaster “Professional” watches was launched, with the highlight being the Seamaster 300, which became part of a celebrated trilogy alongside the Speedmaster and Railmaster.

Thanks to its extraordinary record of precision, OMEGA has been selected as the official timekeeper for many prestigious sporting events including the Olympics, OMEGA Dubai Moonlight Classic and European Masters golf tournaments. OMEGA’s legendary water resistance also helped the company formally become a part of the legendary yacht racing competition, Amerca’s Cup, in 2000 and 2003.

The America’s Cup began 45 years before the modern Olympics, and its “Auld Mug” award is one of the longestrunning trophies in the world of sport.

In 2021, OMEGA will continue the quest for the next champion with America’s Cup in New Zealand, and will launch the next-generation OMEGA Seamaster with superior precision ready for the fierce competition.

Featuring a new chronograph lock-system, quickchange strap and water grip pushers, OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M America’s Cup Chronograph is tailor-made for the 36th America’s Cup.

The watch’s exclusive CHRONO LOCK system is included to secure the chronograph functions, limiting the margin of error while sailing at high speed on the water.

The steel OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M is 44 millimeters in diameter and features a blue ceramic dial and bezel and a white enamel diving scale.

OMEGA also employed soft-rubber buttons which are ergonomically designed in fashionable shades of blue and red. The OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer 9900 serves to ensure its precision.

Like OMEGA’s previous tribute watches, the timepiece is inlaid with blue lines of text, reading “36th America’s Cup” and “Auckland 2021” on the Alveol-shaped caseback. A special presentation box is designed in the color scheme of the America’s Cup, which adds further value for owners.

Some items are just timeless. With a proud and longstanding history, OMEGA Seamaster is irreplaceable both under the waves and while sailing the seas.
