Vietnam Airlines is set to launch nonstop flights between Hanoi and Hangzhou on November 15, 2026, operating four round trips per week. The new route will connect Vietnam’s capital with one of eastern China’s leading economic, technology and tourism hubs, making travel more convenient while opening up new opportunities for trade and business cooperation between the two countries.
The Hanoi–Hangzhou route will operate every Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, using Airbus A321 aircraft, with a flight time of approximately three hours.
To mark the launch, Vietnam Airlines is offering round-trip fares from Hanoi to Hangzhou starting at VND 7.25 million, inclusive of taxes and fees. The promotional fares are available for tickets purchased by October 26, 2026, for travel between November 22, 2026, and March 31, 2027, excluding certain peak travel periods. Lotusmiles members can also earn double bonus miles on eligible tickets purchased by January 15, 2027.
With the addition of Hangzhou, Vietnam Airlines’ network between Vietnam and China will expand to seven nonstop routes serving four Chinese cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hangzhou.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Trung, Executive Vice President of Vietnam Airlines, said: “The launch of the Hanoi–Hangzhou route marks another step forward in Vietnam Airlines’ strategy to expand its international network. Despite ongoing market challenges, particularly fuel price volatility, bringing the route into operation ahead of schedule in the fourth quarter of 2026 demonstrates our proactive approach and strong commitment to expanding international connectivity. The new service will help promote trade and tourism while contributing to the country’s economic growth.”
Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province, is renowned for the scenic beauty of West Lake, its world-famous Longjing tea and the distinctive cultural heritage of the Jiangnan region. The city is also a major hub for technology, e-commerce and innovation in China, hosting the headquarters of numerous leading companies. Its blend of cultural heritage and modern urban life makes Hangzhou an appealing destination for both leisure and business travelers.
Located in the Yangtze River Delta, Hangzhou is also a convenient base for exploring other destinations in eastern China, including Shanghai and the historic cities of the Jiangnan region, giving travelers more opportunities to discover the area’s rich cultural heritage.
Since the beginning of 2026, Vietnam Airlines has continued to expand its international network, launching new routes to Amsterdam, Colombo, Phuket and Ahmedabad. The airline has also increased flight frequencies on selected routes to Seoul, Tokyo, Osaka, Taipei and Kaohsiung (Taiwan, China), as well as Singapore, Manila, Moscow, Melbourne and Sydney.
The continued expansion of Vietnam Airlines’ network to major international economic and tourism hubs reflects the airline’s proactive approach to global integration and its commitment to creating broader opportunities for international cooperation. These nonstop services help facilitate trade, attract international visitors and strengthen Vietnam’s connectivity with key markets across the region and around the world.
