Vietnam Airlines will launch nonstop flights between Hanoi and Ahmedabad on November 3, 2026, marking the airline’s seventh route between Vietnam and India. The new service will operate four round trips per week using Airbus A321 aircraft, bringing the airline’s total scheduled service to India to 25 round trips per week.
Flights from Hanoi will depart at 5:35 p.m. and arrive in Ahmedabad at 9:30 p.m. local time. Return flights will depart Ahmedabad at 10:45 p.m. and arrive in Hanoi at 4:35 a.m. the following day. Services in both directions will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
With the addition of Ahmedabad, Vietnam Airlines will serve five destinations in India: Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad, with flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The expanded network will offer travelers more convenient connections between the two countries.
The expansion comes amid sustained growth in travel demand between Vietnam and India. India is currently Vietnam’s eighth-largest source market for international visitors. In the first nine months of 2026, Vietnam welcomed more than 670,000 Indian visitors, representing a year on year increase of 33%. Beyond Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, destinations such as Da Nang and Phu Quoc are also attracting growing numbers of Indian travelers, reflecting the continued expansion of travel demand between the two countries.
Nguyen Quang Trung, Executive Vice President of Vietnam Airlines, said: “Expanding our network in India remains a strategic priority as we strengthen direct air links between the two countries. The launch of the Hanoi to Ahmedabad route opens up new opportunities in western India, supporting tourism, trade and economic cooperation with Gujarat and across India.”
Since the beginning of 2026, Vietnam Airlines has launched new international services to Amsterdam, Colombo and Phuket, while increasing frequencies on existing routes serving Munich, Moscow, Taipei, Osaka, Tokyo and Seoul, further enhancing international connectivity to meet growing demand for travel and business exchanges.
As Vietnam Airlines continues to expand its international network, the airline remains focused on markets with strong potential for trade, investment and tourism. By strengthening connections between Vietnam and key international markets, the airline aims to attract more international visitors, facilitate business exchanges and create new opportunities for economic cooperation.
