In the digital age, technological solutions are increasingly being developed and implemented to improve experiences at customer touch-points.

In keeping with global trends, Vietnam Airlines has become the first airline in Vietnam to test two services that utilize facial recognition technology. The first two services on trial are canceling a booking through our website and checking in to the Lotus Lounge, both of which are based on real needs to maintain security and increase safety, precision, and convenience for passengers.

Booking cancellations via VNA’s website

Instead of typing an OTP sent to their email address to cancel a booking, passengers only need to register with photos of their ID and cancel their online tickets in the blink of an eye thanks to facial recognition technology.

Access to the Lotus Lounge

At the priority kiosk, employees will help passengers to register for this service on their mobile phones and scan their faces in order to enter the Lotus Lounge without presenting any additional ID.

Following a trial period and review, new facial recognition features will soon be deployed to ensure the most comfortable and convenient passenger experiences.
