As the tourism industry recovers at a robust pace, Vietnam Airlines is not only increasing operational frequency on traditional routes but also opening more international routes and venturing into new markets.
Opening new flight routes to India
In June 2022, Vietnam Airlines expects to launch new routes: Hanoi – New Delhi (India) with a frequency of three flights per week, and Ho Chi Minh City – New Delhi, with two flights per week. Flights will be operated at 4-star international service standards using the world’s latest wide-body Boeing 787 and Airbus A350-900 aircraft models.
With a time-honored traditional culture, famous heritages, and magnificent natural landscapes, India is a must-see for tourists exploring the world. This vast country is also the homeland of Buddhism, making it a popular pilgrimage destination for countries with large Buddhist populations, such as Vietnam.
Notably, Indian guests’ demand for business and leisure travel to Vietnam has increased sharply in recent years. Vietnam is becoming one of the top destinations of interest for Indians. The bilateral trade turnover between Vietnam and India in 2021 reached more than USD 13 billion, an increase of 36.5% over USD 9.6 billion in 2020.
India is the world’s second-most populous country and the largest economy in South Asia. The opening of regular flight routes to India promises access to one of the world’s largest markets and enhances Vietnam Airlines’ competitiveness and position in the international aviation market.
More new routes to Singapore
Dubbed the “cleanest and most beautiful country in the world”, with its modern and comfortable facilities, the “Lion Island Nation” of Singapore is a popular destination for tourists worldwide. It is also an essential gateway for investment, trade, and tourism, where international visitors can easily connect to Vietnam. From June 2022, Vietnam Airlines will open new routes from Danang to Singapore with three flights per week and from Nha Trang and Phu Quoc to Singapore with two flights per week. These will supplement the existing regular flights between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Singapore.
Increasing frequency and restoring more routes to Japan and Korea
As they are Vietnam Airlines’ most prominent and vital markets, restoring flights to Japan and South Korea takes top priority. From May 15, 2022, the national airline has increased flight frequency on eight routes between Vietnam, Japan, and Korea, restored three routes to Korea, and promoted the usage of modern wide-body Boeing 787 aircraft on these routes to offer passengers the fullest and most comfortable experience.
More specifically, Vietnam Airlines will operate from 25 to 30 flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Japan’s major cities per week and guarantee daily flights between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Seoul (Korea).
In particular, from June 1, Vietnam Airlines will resume flights between Danang – Seoul and Hanoi – Busan (South Korea). From July 1, flights will resume for Ho Chi Minh City – Busan, Nha Trang – Seoul, and Danang – Tokyo routes.
As routes to Japan and Korea reopen, Vietnam Airlines is offering special prices. Fares for the Hanoi – Busan route start at only VND 11.55 million (VND 14.5 million after tax), while fares for the Danang – Seoul route start at just VND 6.7 million (VND 9.6 million after tax). These prices apply to tickets with departure dates up to December 31, 2022. Fares may vary depending on the exchange rate and availability at the time of purchase.
Busy flights are opening up new opportunities for the transportation business and helping Vietnam Airlines to realize its goal of fully restoring our international flight network to its pre-COVID-19 state in July 2022.
