The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the most important traditional holidays in Vietnam. During this celebration, mooncakes are essential gifts for friends and loved ones. These tasty cakes symbolize happiness and wholeness.

After two years of battling the pandemic, this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival is even more special as life is gradually returning to normal. To express our gratitude for our customers’ continuing support, Vietnam Airlines would like to offer specially-flavored mooncakes to passengers on domestic flights departing from Hanoi and Ho Chi Chi Minh City. We will do this in two phases:

  • Phase 1 is from August 8th to August 12th, 2022 (i.e., July 11th – 15th of the lunar calendar) during the Vu Lan Festival (Ullambana), which takes place on the 15th day of the 7th lunar month;
  • Phase 2 is scheduled from September 4th to September 10th, 2022 (i.e., August 9th – 15th of the lunar calendar), during the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Every passenger will be offered a boxed mooncake in one of various flavors, such as lotus seed, cantaloupe, taro, green bean paste, and pandan leaves. Prepared by Noi Bai Catering Services JSC (NCS) and Vietnam Airlines Caterers (VACS), our mooncakes are prepared according to strict manufacturing guidelines from carefully selected ingredients. The flavors are a sophisticated blend of traditional and modern tastes, so we hope that all of our customers, including vegetarians, can enjoy them.

Every mooncake is packaged in a beautifully designed paper box, making it the perfect gift for family, friends – or yourself! Furthermore, these gifts represent the wishes of each and everyone at Vietnam Airlines to share the beauty of Vietnam’s traditional culture, as well as our goal to constantly improve service quality and create new experiences for our passengers.
