Vietnam Airlines, in collaboration with Vietnam’s tourism promotion agencies and their Nordic partners, hosted the Vietnam Europe Tourism Promotion Program in Copenhagen. The event convened high level representatives from government bodies, diplomatic missions, tourism authorities, and leading businesses from both nations.
This program marks a significant advancement in strengthening aviation connectivity, tourism cooperation, and trade relations between Vietnam and the Nordic region. It further underscores the position of Vietnam Airlines as a key driver in expanding international air services.
Among the distinguished attendees were Mr. Nguyen Manh Quyen, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, senior executives of Vietnam Airlines, leaders from the Hanoi Department of Tourism and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, and representatives of Saigontourist Group, together with officials from Danish government agencies and tourism promotion organizations.
During the event, Vietnam Airlines announced its new nonstop service connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Copenhagen, scheduled to commence on December 15, 2025. This first direct route between Vietnam and Denmark will establish an important air link between Southeast Asia and Northern Europe and is expected to reduce travel time to approximately twelve hours. The service will operate three times a week using the modern Boeing 787 9 Dreamliner.
Flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Copenhagen will depart at 22:45 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Return flights from Copenhagen to Ho Chi Minh City will depart at 10:50 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The launch of this route marks a significant step in Vietnam Airlines strategy to expand its European network and is expected to strengthen Vietnam’s tourism profile within the Nordic region.
In addition to announcing the new route, Vietnam Airlines and its Danish partners signed four important cooperation agreements designed to strengthen collaboration in tourism and aviation. These agreements include a strategic partnership focused on promoting Vietnam in the Nordic region and developing new market opportunities, establishing a strong foundation for future initiatives that will position Vietnam as a preferred destination for travelers from this area.
Vietnam Airlines and Copenhagen Airport also entered into a memorandum of understanding covering infrastructure coordination, the enhancement of service quality, and joint promotional activities. Both parties committed to developing two way tourism products that will attract more Danish visitors to Vietnam while supporting increased travel from Vietnam to Northern Europe.
Vietnam Airlines, Saigontourist, and Nordic Travel also signed a three party cooperation agreement to expand package tour offerings and improve the overall customer experience. Together, these agreements form a strong foundation for integrated and sustainable development across the aviation and tourism value chain between Vietnam and the Nordic region.
As the capital of Denmark and a major economic and tourism hub in Northern Europe, Copenhagen acts as a gateway to the broader Scandinavian region, including Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Iceland. With Vietnam Airlines now operating in Copenhagen, Vietnam seeks to enhance its competitive standing on the global tourism map and to stimulate greater visitor flows and investment between Vietnam and the region.
The Vietnam Europe Tourism Promotion Program in Copenhagen marks a significant step forward in cooperation between the two sides and highlights the leading role of Vietnam Airlines and the Vietnamese tourism industry in presenting the country to audiences around the world. The program supports long term sustainable development, strengthens Vietnam’s integration into the global community, and promotes green growth throughout the period from 2025 to 2030.
