Vietnam Airlines and Shinhan Card announced a new business agreement to develop co-branded card products and pursue joint marketing initiatives.
Under this agreement, the two companies plan to launch a credit card featuring Vietnam Airlines’ ‘Lotusmiles’ membership for the Korean market. ‘Lotusmiles’ is Vietnam Airlines’ mileage program that allows members to earn miles through flight bookings or service usage. Members can enjoy premium service incentives such as priority booking, check-in, SkyPriority baggage tagging, additional free baggage allowance, and priority access at security and immigration areas, business lounge access, and priority boarding. Accumulated miles can be redeemed for bonus tickets, seat upgrades, and various other travel-related services.

The upcoming Vietnam Airlines co-branded card will include various membership benefits of ‘Lotusmiles’ and mileage accumulation services based on card usage. Additionally, the companies plan to prepare differentiated marketing strategies and customer perks to offer new value to both sets of customers through close collaboration.
Mr. Nguyen Sy Thanh, Head of LotuSmiles, said: “The business agreement between Vietnam Airlines and Shinhan Card will continue to unlock customer-centric approaches of the two leading corporations. By joining forces in several areas, we can strengthen the mutual understanding to support each other sustainably in years to come with the ultimate purpose of offering exceptional benefits to our customers.”
Mr. Kim Tae-kyung, Head of Sales at Shinhan Card said, “Through this business agreement with Vietnam Airlines, we aim to offer more extensive and valuable benefits to travelers going to Vietnam and other destinations, ensuring a differentiated service experience.”
The co-branded card of Vietnam Airlines and Shinhan Card represents the strategic vision of the two countries’ businesses, with the goal of becoming pioneering businesses in digitalization. This is even more meaningful when one side is Vietnam’s national airline and the other side is Korea’s leading financial group, which both have affirmed their position in the market with outstanding achievements and have built a loyal customer base.
