With a fleet of the world’s most modern wide-body aircraft, to meet market demands, Vietnam Airlines plans to launch direct flights to new destinations.

Manila – the capital of the Philippines

Manila, the Philippines’ bustling cultural, political, and economic center, is home to many famous attractions, such as the ancient city of Intramuros, Fort Santiago, Manila Bay, and the Chinatown district. This city boasts a mix of ancient and modern elements, plus a vibrant atmosphere intertwined with calm and tranquility. Manila also attracts tourists with its bustling shopping centers and sparkling nightlife areas. It’s an ideal destination from which to explore the Philippines, which offers many exciting activities. Travelling to the Philippines is simple for ASEAN citizens, who do not need a visa. This is the first new international destination Vietnam Airlines plans to connect in 2024, with direct flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Munich – the city of festivals

Munich holds a special allure for tourists, boasting a rich cultural heritage and some of Germany’s most ancient architectural marvels, including the New Town Hall, the Rathaus-Glockenspiel clock tower, Frauenkirche church, Munich Residenz, Nymphenburg Palace, Cuvilliés Theatre, and the Deutsches Museum. It is also a hub for festivals with the world’s largest beer festival, Oktoberfest. The city’s cuisine makes food-lovers swoon, with offerings such as Frikadeller meatballs, Weisswurst white sausages, Currywurst curried sausages, Maultaschen dumplings, and sour cabbage with pork knuckles.

Vietnam Airlines plans to launch a new direct flight connecting Hanoi/ Ho Chi Minh City with Munich by the end of 2024, in parallel with existing direct flights to Frankfurt. This new route will meet the needs of tourists, business people, and especially about 140,000 people of Vietnamese descent who live and work in Germany.

Along with plans to open new flight routes, Vietnam Airlines has increased the frequency of flights to Europe, including those on routes to Paris (France), Frankfurt (Germany), and London (UK). The airline is also considering the resumption of direct flights between Vietnam and Moscow (Russia), to meet the anticipated rise in travel demand in 2024 and beyond.
