Vietnam Airlines has signed a series of memorandum of understanding (MOUs) with three leading Singaporean companies in the aviation sector, focusing on building strategic bilateral partnerships.
The agreements signed on March 13 during the state visit to Singapore by Mr. To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, are set to lay a solid foundation for Long Thanh International Airport to become a world-class aviation hub, enhancing its global connectivity and competitiveness.

As part of one of these MOUs, Vietnam Airlines has formed a comprehensive partnership with ST Engineering Aerospace to enhance aircraft maintenance and repair services and to develop cutting-edge maintenance facilities at Long Thanh International Airport. Additionally, the airline has joined forces with SATS Ltd at Long Thanh International Airport’s cargo terminal to significantly expand its international cargo operations to over 215 destinations worldwide.
Furthermore, under another MOU, Vietnam Airlines, SaigonTourist Group, and APG Group Pte Limited have come together to develop unique air travel products and innovative payment solutions, further enhancing the travel experience on routes between Vietnam and Singapore..
These partnerships underscore Vietnam Airlines’ leadership in fostering innovation, digital transformation, and infrastructure investment, as outlined in Resolution 57-NQ/TW. They also pave the way for the establishment of state-of-the-art aircraft maintenance hangars at Long Thanh International Airport, equipped with cutting-edge technologies. The key goal is to position Long Thanh International Airport as a leading global aviation hub.
Singapore is an important market for Vietnam Airlines in Southeast Asia. The airline operates 28 weekly flights between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Singapore, having transported more than 7 million passengers since its launch on May 27, 1995. This strong presence has been instrumental in strengthening trade, tourism, and cultural ties between the two countries.
These strategic partnerships represent the first step in the transformation of Long Thanh International Airport. They also act as a key catalyst for Vietnam Airlines to expand its global presence and elevate the Vietnamese aviation industry to new heights.
