BALI (INDONESIA)

Bali, Indonesia’s most famous island, maintains a vibrant local culture even amid the influx of tourists from all over the world. The renowned tropical paradise features magnificent beaches alongside thousands of stunning ancient Hindu temples dotting the landscape. From mountaintops to islands to gardens, the temples are decorated with colorful fabrics, flowers and incense and remain a vital part of daily life in Bali.

The beauty of Bali

A journey around the Tegalalang rice terraces in Ubud is especially romantic in the gentle late summer afternoon sun. The sight of ripe golden fields mingling with the sky and clouds, while ancient temples peek out in the distance, is breathtaking. On that poetic road, visitors can enjoy delicious babi guling (roasted suckling pork) or indulge in crispy duck at Bebek Bengil.

Last but not least is Nusa Penida, a small island southeast of Bali, with pristine beaches, stunning cliff formations and excellent diving and snorkeling. The majestic natural scenery is yet another reason that Bali is an ideal location for a romantic summer getaway.

MARSEILLE (FRANCE)

An ancient port city on the Mediterranean Sea, Marseille is brilliant and romantic, with thousands of high white sails and flocks of seagulls flapping rhythmically. As summer arrives, the sun gradually sets in long, sparkling streaks on Calanques Bay and the rocky mountains become even more charming against the blue water of Vieux Port Beach. All of these elements combine to form a natural chorus that will make anyone fall in love.

The Notre-Dame de la Garde

Marseille has something to offer any visitor. A shopaholic can find everything from luxury boutiques near the Old Port to local flea markets and traditional shops selling macarons and handmade soaps. Art and history lovers must visit the Notre-Dame de la Garde, the Musée d’Histoire de Marseille and the Château d’If. And those in search of romantic moments should stroll through the old town of Le Panier, where the picturesque summer resembles an oil painting with narrow streets, rows of old houses and colorful balconies. Walking through Marseille’s dreamy streets, sipping fine wine, and enjoying the famous bouillabaisse (fish soup), will undoubtedly create unforgettable summer memories.

SEVILLE (SPAIN)

The Spanish have an adage: “Quien no ha visto Sevilla, no ha visto maravilla.” (“Who has not seen Seville has not seen wonder.”) Seville, the capital of Andalusia, is a charming and romantic city of palaces, churches and narrow medieval lanes.

Summer in Seville

As summer arrives, the perfect place to start an exploration of Seville is the old quarter of Santa Cruz, visiting small stores and shops, sampling delicious tapas and sipping some fino sherry.

Every street corner in Seville has its own hidden melody, from troubadours singing with guitars to vibrant flamenco dances at nightfall, making it one of the most enchanting cities in the world. With its welcoming atmosphere, a summertime visit to this cultural cradle of Spain is a must.

SAPPORO (JAPAN)

Visitors can admire the city’s unique architecture and bustling nightlife while enjoying music, cold beer and a variety of local dishes.

The Sapporo Beer Museum

In addition, visitors can stop by the Sapporo Beer Museum to sample beer right at the production site and experience the full flavor of Genghis Khan, a local specialty of Mongolian lamb barbecue.
