For the first time ever, 12 kinds of banh mi and fresh cakes in a variety of flavors will be served as snacks to economy class passengers traveling on some of Vietnam Airlines’ domestic routes.

From Sep. 1, Vietnam Airlines serves new light meals in Economy Class on some domestic routes

Starting in September, passengers traveling with Vietnam Airlines can enjoy 12 kinds of fresh and delicious banh mi and cakes, from savory banh mi with ham or shredded chicken to the sweetness of coconut cake with cream, swiss rolls and buttery sponge cakes.

These delicacies will be served on a two-week cycle, with two dishes for each cycle. Flights with different starting points will feature different kinds of banh mi and cakes, offering passengers a wide and refreshing range of choices.

Vietnam Airlines will begin serving these light meals on flights originating from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city with a travel time of more than 1 hour and 30 minutes, during the snack times of 8:30 – 11:00, 13:00 – 17:30, and 20:00 – 5:00 the next day. Routes to Dong Hoi, Hue, Da Nang, Chu Lai, Tuy Hoa, Quy Nhon, Cam Ranh, Da Lat, Buon Ma Thuot, and Pleiku are currently suspended due to the pandemic.

The new treats are produced by Noi Bai Catering Services JSC (NCS) and Vietnam Airlines Caterers LTD (VACS), subsidiaries of Vietnam Airlines, under strict health and safety guidelines.
