From now on, visitors to Co To Island in Quang Ninh province will not be allowed to bring plastic bags and single-use plastic items to the island.
This is a continuation of the ‘Plastic Waste-Free Co To Island’ project that was implemented a year ago. With positive efforts to protect the sea, after one year, the awareness, habits, and behavior of both locals and tourists have significantly changed, and the marine environment has seen positive transformations. Many species, such as turtles, olive ridley sea turtles, seagulls, etc., have returned to inhabit Co To Island. This is an encouraging sign for protecting the island’s marine ecosystem and promoting Co To’s tourism potential as a green island with high biodiversity.
