With the theme “Winter’s Intoxicating Sway”, the Bac Ha White Plateau Festival celebrates the unique tourism offerings in the highland district of Bac Ha in Lao Cai province.
Held from mid-November to December 7, 2024, the festival will involve many events, including the Bac Ha General Sports Tourism Competition; the Third Northwest Mountain Marathon; the Bac Ha Ethnic Sports Festival; the Ethnic Minority Clothing Contest; and the Bac Ha Mong People’s Khen (Reed Panpipe) Art Performance Contest. Other enticing programs will take place at the century-old Hoang A Tuong Mansion, such as re-enactments of highland markets; recreations of Mong, Tay, Nung, and Dao cultural spaces in Bac Ha district; the Rose Festival; and the “Brocade and Gifts from Roses” exhibition.
