It might be simple when flying alone, but if you’re traveling with the elderly, children, or those with limited mobility, the advance seat selection service becomes useful. With a small fee and some simple steps, you will gain the “power” to select your desired seat in advance (if available) on all Vietnam Airlines flights.

The fee for advance seat selection varies depending on the type of seat and the flight operated, with reference prices (not including VAT), starting from only VND30,000 for domestic flights and USD5 (equivalent to VND119,000) for international flights.

Seat selection fee:

As of August 15, 2023, the updated seat selection fees on our website www.vietnamairlines.com will be applied. Passengers in Economy Flex, Premium Economy, and Business Class are exempt from the advance seat selection fee. Lotusmiles members also receive up to a 50% discount on the advance seat selection fee, just by entering their membership number when purchasing tickets online, or informing the ticket sales staff to enter their membership number when purchasing directly at the Vietnam Airlines ticket offices or official agencies.

Note:

  • When purchasing tickets on the Vietnam Airlines’ website or app, passengers can choose advance seats from the time of ticket purchase up to 25 hours before the flight’s scheduled departure time.
  • Lotusmiles members with Million Miler/Platinum/Gold/Titanium cards have priority in advance seat selection according to their tier membership upon checking-in at the airport.
  • Passengers purchasing Economy super lite class tickets will have seats assigned automatically by the system during online check-in.
  • If passengers have not selected their seats in advance, they will be able to choose from the remaining available seats when checking in online within 24 hours before the flight time.
  • Passengers traveling with children under 2 years old are not allowed to select seats in advance for safety reasons.
