Inspired by traditional eggshell-studded lacquer paintings, Dinh Van Tho’s new collection, “Hands,” depicts an ephemeral beauty on Vietnam’s charming national dress, the áo dài.

Silk is the classic áo dài material, enriched in this collection by colorful paintings and embroidery from the hands of skilled artisans.

The designer also employs a range of unique materials, including eggshells, rice grains and bamboo to decorate the áo dài, while handheld flowers and dried lotus leaves on headwear add highlights to this quintessentially Vietnamese fashion collection.

Dinh Van Tho’s “Hands” weds contemporary colors and techniques with timeless charm for an imaginative rediscovery of the enchanting áo dài.
