On the 25th of the 12th lunar month (February 6th, 2021), Viet Village’s Communal House Club, in coordination with Hanoi Old Quarter Administration, will hold an event called “Vietnamese New Year – Tet 2021 in the Old Quarter”.

Held in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, the event will feature many traditional customs, including a procession in the courtyard of Viet village’s communal house; a ritual dedicated to village deities, and setting-up a “neu” tree” (an ornamental tree for the lunar new year). There will also be an ao dai fashion show and a concert titled “Spring Across the Nation” showcasing “don ca tai tu” (a music genre from Southern Vietnam) from Bac Lieu; “ca Hu” (a type of classical music from Central Vietnam) from Hue city; Thai folk performers from Quan Hoa – Thanh Hoa; and artists performing “chau van, ca tru” (forms of traditional music from Northern Vietnam) from Hanoi and Hai Phong.
