Widely considered the “blue gem” of Ha Tinh province, Vu Quang National Park — an ASEAN Heritage Park — is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna thanks to its diverse ecosystems.
Vu Quang National Park covers the entire delta of the majestic Ngan Truoi River, which courses through the mighty Truong Son Mountains. At its source, the river is like a gigantic serpent slithering across the treacherous terrain. Downriver lies Ngan Truoi Lake, the third-largest water reservoir in Vietnam. Construction of this 40km2 reservoir took eight years and was only finished at the end of 2017. As well as supplying water for agricultural and aqua-farming activities, industry, and domestic uses, Ngan Truoi’s waterways also protect the region’s natural habitats and create charming scenery in the picturesque Truong Son Range.
