Memories that stem from ancient ceramic patterns, the signature red glaze of terracotta tiles and the absolute symmetry of architectural lines in a childhood house inspired designer Thuy Nguyen in her latest áo dài collection. Alongside the cinematic glow of actress Kathy Uyen, áo dài designs with Indochinese influences seem to slow down the hectic pace of this Hong Kong quarter and invite viewers to travel back in time. Fashion fans can also see these decorative prints in the film “Miss Saigon,” for which Thuy Nguyen served as producer and costume designer.
