Trinh Bich Thuy, long-renowned for her designs of traditional Vietnamese garments such as cotton jackets (áo bông), has released a 2019 Spring/Summer áo dài collection called Longevity. The collection is characterized by modest silhouettes, sophisticated weaving techniques and manual embroidery. Longevity signifies the elegance and reserved charm of Hanoi renewed through modern designs.

This theme of the collection is portrayed via the áo dài panels adorned with elaborately embroidered Chinese characters  meaning  “Longevity” on Trinh silk designed by Trinh Bich Thuy herself.  In this context, longevity means  not only “living long”, but also “living well,” and once combined with the embroidered Eight Treasures patterns, it also represents long-lasting fortune and prosperity to wearers.

The collection was photographed in a tranquil pine forest by fairylike Tuyen Lam Lake, located within the calm ambience of Terracotta Dalat Resort. The spacious compound overflows with perennial pines, silver-leafed  mimosa trees and radiant flower gardens under the crisp sun of the highlands. This destination conjures an enchanting and iconic European village.
