The Vietnam Heritage Art collection by Tsafari delves into the brocade patterns of the 16th-19th centuries and recreates them for contemporary fashion applications. The collection is inspired by images of elegant Empress Nam Phuong, the last empress of Vietnam, adorned in brocade ao dai and crown and later in innovative French-inspired attire. Tsafari transforms the traditional Vietnamese ao dai, blending it seamlessly with Western eveningwear and creating innovative designs with techniques such as laser cutting and pleating. On this journey of fashion across space and time, the romantic beauty of the East is coupled with a mission to bring heritage from the past to the future.
Vietnam Heritage Art uses natural and environmentally friendly materials such as lotus fiber, silk and tussah silk, which are then printed with historical patterns. The result is a fabric similar to brocade but easy to wear, lightweight, cool and absorbent. Palettes range from vibrant multicolor to minimalist monochrome, all embodying sustainable heritage values.
